On Sunday, 14th  April, 2024, Xtreme Gaming, the dominant team from China, defeated Team Falcons, the clear favorites, to win the first-ever Elite League Dota 2 championship.

Both sides fought hard for the championship throughout the grueling best-of-five grand finals match, which saw Xtreme Gaming defeat Falcons in the end.

Later in the playoffs, after being eliminated by Team Falcons and forced to play in the lower bracket, Xtreme Gaming battled back to win the championship and exact retribution.

Notably, Team Falcons, who were expected to win their third straight Dota 2 event in 2024, were severely upset by Xtreme Gaming's victory.

In a best-of-five match, Xtreme Gaming defeated Team Falcons to wrap up the inaugural Elite League.

Falcons won the first game of the series, and it looked like they would win it all again. But in the second game, Xtreme recovered as the Falcons were unable to halt Luna's unrelenting assault on them with her pushing abilities.

A similar plot developed in the third game of the series, with Xtreme Gaming exerting significant pressure on Falcons. They gained an advantage over their rivals thanks to a few well-executed pickoffs throughout the map.

After a disastrous attempt to challenge Roshan, the Falcons were unable to hold on for much longer in this action-packed third game, and Xtreme Gaming ultimately surrendered defeat at the 33-minute mark.

Both teams gave it their all and went head-to-head in the series finale, with Xtreme taking the win and the Falcons tying the scores.

The Falcons took the lead early in the match when Andreas "Cr1t-" Nielsen's Hoodwink killed Ding "Dy" Cong's Centaur.

Up until the 40th minute, the game was well matched. However, a significant error made by the Falcons in the 41st minute tilted the scales, allowing Xtreme to take control of the middle and lower barracks in the 44th minute.

Now that they had a sizable gold advantage, Xtreme Gaming was able to outplay Team Falcons and win the skirmishes that were happening all over the map.

At the 53rd minute, Xtreme was able to collect mega creeps; Falcons waved the white flag, with Ammar "ATF" Al-Assaf yelling "GG."
