The Grind 2024: Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) is over. 256 seasoned and underdog teams were allowed to compete in the Grind event, which served as a qualifying round for the BGIS 2024 main event.

Four teams have been excluded from the BGIS 2024 competition by Krafton, the company announced in a statement posted on its official Instagram account, for violating the regulations.

A ban of four teams from the main event of BGIS 2024

In a statement posted on its Instagram account on April 30, Krafton declared, "We are dedicated to upholding a fair and competitive environment in the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2024. We regret having to inform you of a major decision that will impact the competition's fairness and integrity. A formal ban from BGIS 2024 has been imposed on five Filter Esports, including INSTINCT OUTLIERS, Megastars Gaming, and TENSE ESPORTS, for breaking the tournament's code of conduct/ruleset. These teams participated in acts that were clearly against the rules, according to an examination. The specific offenses were working with other players who had cheating devices and utilizing unapproved software modifications. The fairness, integrity, and sportsmanship that BGIS upholds are undercut by these acts."

" With immediate effect, Five Filter Esports, INSTINCT OUTLIERS, Megastars Gaming, and TENSE ESPORTS are eliminated from BGIS 2024, and all of their event outcomes are null and invalid.  We'll also conduct a full investigation to see if any additional penalties—such as prohibitions from attending any Krafton-organized events in the future—are required ".

Additionally, Krafton disclosed that the points earned by each of the four teams in The Grind competition will be divided evenly among the other members of each group. " As a result of their disqualification, the teams that are still in their respective groups will split the points that these teams have accumulated equally."

The rationale for this choice is to preserve the group's competitive equilibrium and guarantee that no team is unfairly harmed by the removal of a rival. "

In order to provide each team an equal chance, the overall standings of BGIS 2024 The Grind tournament have also been disclosed. "These updated point totals will be reflected in the rearranged seeds for the forthcoming matches. By reseeding according to the most recent standings, the goal is to guarantee that every club has fair playing conditions. We strongly advise all teams to study their updated rankings and make appropriate match preparations. Maintaining the competitive spirit of our tournament is of utmost importance, and we think these modifications will contribute to maintaining its integrity. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding. We value your dedication to sportsmanship and fair play. We wish every team the best of luck as we go forward with BGIS 2024.

Following the completion of The Grind, Tense Esports and Megastars Gaming were ranked sixth and twenty-first, respectively, and guaranteed a seat in Rounds 4 and 3. Conversely, PL Dominators finished 19th, earned two bonus points, advanced to the top 16, and secured a direct berth in Round 4.
