The International 12 is an offline Dota2 tournament which is taking place at Royal Arena, Copenhagen. Organised by Valve and PGL, the tournament started on 4th september 2024 and will conclude on 15th september 2024. Total 16 teams are taking part in this competition.Lets go through the details of this competition.

Format Of The International 12

Among the participants, six teams are invited and ten teams are from regional qualifiers.Two teams each are from Western Europe, China, Southeast Asia and South America. One team each are from Eastern Europe and North America.

Group stage of this event will take place from 4th to 5th september,2024. There will be four groups of four teams each. All matches will be played in best of two series.Top two teams in each group will be matched with opponent from either the 3rd or 4th placed teams in the opposite group (A vs B and C vs D) for seeding matches.

The Seeding Decider stage will be played from 6th to 7th September, 2024. Sixteen teams will play eight best of three series head to head matches to determine main event bracket placement.

Main event will take place from 8th to 10th September (Playoffs) and the Finals will take place from  13th to 15th September, 2024.

Sixteen teams will play in double-elimination bracket. Eight teams will begin in the Upper Bracket and eight in the Lower Bracket. Grand Final will be held in best of five series and all other matches will be played in best of three series.

In the Seeding Decider stage, Xtreme Gaming won 2-0 against Talon Esports and Team Liquid and BetBoom Team reached a 1-1 draw.

Prizepool

The tournament boasts a substantial prizepool of $2,437,856 USD with the following distribution:

• The champion will take home $1,097,027.
• The team securing the second place will receive $341,302.
• The third place holder team will get $219,365.
• The fourth position holder will take home $146,244.
